notes from
the MUCK . . .

How does your garden grow? With muck, muck and more muck! I spent much of today finishing the final muck box and then shifting muck from one box to the next. The first box, which the Big Lad is enthusiastically pointing out, has been rotting down for two years now and once we’d removed the top quarter of unrotted material, we found we’d hit the pay dirt.

FRT

One of the fun little internet games I’ve picked up from some of the other blogs I read pretty regularly (like this one and this one) is Friday Random Ten. To play, just set your mp3 player to shuffle and post the first ten songs it spits at you. It’s a great way to learn what your friends are listening to and discover some new music. What really makes this game fun, however, is the ever-present danger that one’s beloved iPod will decide to expose his heretofore well-concealed fondness for Elton John and Pink. Still, as in poker (and life), no reward comes without risk, so here goes:

Pixies, Dead (live)
Pere Ubu, Busman’s Honeymoon
Lead Belly, Diggin’ My Potatoes
Camper van Beethoven, Turtlehead
Common, Time Travelin’ Reprise
The American Analog Set, The Kindness of Strangers
Bob Dylan & The Band, Goin’ Down the Road
Bob Dylan, Love Henry
Cracker, Take Me Down to the Infirmary
Billy Bragg & Wilco, Someday Some Morning Sometime

Sweet. Looking at this list, you might actually think I only listened to cool music.

Post yours in comments. If you have the stones.
