notes from
the MUCK . . .

How does your garden grow? With muck, muck and more muck! I spent much of today finishing the final muck box and then shifting muck from one box to the next. The first box, which the Big Lad is enthusiastically pointing out, has been rotting down for two years now and once we’d removed the top quarter of unrotted material, we found we’d hit the pay dirt.

"Awe inspiring stuff..."

There's another trailer for A Scanner Darkly online, and I have to say I'm pretty excited about this movie. I felt like Waking Life was enjoyable enough, but ultimately the movie suffered from it's own self-obsession. Here, however, Richard Linklater has applied a similar aesthetic to much more compelling material, and it looks like a perfect match. It never would have occurred to me that the director of School of Rock, Before Sunrise and Dazed and Confused could helm a Philip K. Dick adaptation, but clearly he's the man for the job. Also, this project makes me happy because I'll get to see Winona Ryder and Robert Downey Jr. back on the big screen...

Well, sort of.
