notes from
the MUCK . . .

How does your garden grow? With muck, muck and more muck! I spent much of today finishing the final muck box and then shifting muck from one box to the next. The first box, which the Big Lad is enthusiastically pointing out, has been rotting down for two years now and once we’d removed the top quarter of unrotted material, we found we’d hit the pay dirt.

Color Me Stoked

For a few years now I've been fascinated by the Black Dahlia murder. For longer than that, I've been a fan of Brian DePalma's films. And, like nearly every other person I know, I love me some Scarlett Johansson. You can imagine my excitement, then, over DePalma's next film - The Black Dahlia , which offers one theory of what happened and features Ms. Johannson. Mia Kirshner (whom I've had a crush on since Atom Egoyan's Exotica), plays Elizabeth Short. You can read about it here if you're interested. I'd really like to see DePalma get back to doing what he does best (and would've pulled off in Femme Fatale were it not for that atrocious ending). This seems like the perfect material for him.
