notes from
the MUCK . . .

How does your garden grow? With muck, muck and more muck! I spent much of today finishing the final muck box and then shifting muck from one box to the next. The first box, which the Big Lad is enthusiastically pointing out, has been rotting down for two years now and once we’d removed the top quarter of unrotted material, we found we’d hit the pay dirt.

Well, it's going to be lonely around here for a few days. Ben hasn't been able to get the web access he needs to post, and Matt's got his talons in the surf at the Outer Banks. Seems like everyone I know is either at, or heading to, the beach. Presumably, if you're reading this then you're as much of a landlocked sucker as I am. Also, your name is probably Ben.

I'm afraid I haven't got much to say at the moment. I gave up on quitting coffee, so I'm currently downing some brew and surfing the net in search of something to post. By the way, after having it recommended to me as a viable, caffeine free coffee substitute, I did some research and discovered that yerba mate does contain caffeine. On the other hand, I can't say I thought it tasted like ass either. A warning - don't touch the bag and then vigorously rub your eyes with your fingers. Seriously.

What else can I bore you with? Oh, I saw The Coup live for the first time. Fantastic show. It's basically only a matter of time before I get my own track suit.

A final note: I caught the Britney Spears interview last night. Unfortunately, there was only a brief mention of K-Fed's brilliant "PopoZao." However, I did feel sufficiently disgusted with humanity (and myself) afterwards, so, you know, mission accomplished I guess.
