notes from
the MUCK . . .

How does your garden grow? With muck, muck and more muck! I spent much of today finishing the final muck box and then shifting muck from one box to the next. The first box, which the Big Lad is enthusiastically pointing out, has been rotting down for two years now and once we’d removed the top quarter of unrotted material, we found we’d hit the pay dirt.

The Last Hurrah

Apparently, there's an infinitesimal chance that VERONICA MARS could return for a fourth season. Sure it was effectively canceled when the CW excluded it from its fall line up, but the real, really real date for a decision is June 15. I've already signed the petition to keep it on the air. Have you? I'd recommend it if you recognize the brilliant charm of the show, and if you don't mind feeling like a 14 year old girl.

But there's one last thing viewers across the country are doing in an effort to save Veronica: buying Mars Bars and sending them to the entertainment president of the CW network.

The funny thing is that fans have already bought out America's entire Mars Bars supply. Apparently Mars stopped making Mars Bars in the U.S. a few years ago, so now they are sending Marshmallows and Snickers Almond bars from the same company. Not quite as clever, but maybe it will do the trick. The most recent count:

2040 Mars Bars
4848 Snickers Almond bars
398 pounds of marshmallows

I didn't find out about this campaign until today or you bet your Weevil I would have ordered that shit. It's too late now, since the delivery is going to take 3 or 4 days...but I hope it works. I read somewhere that networks count 1 hand written letter supporting a show as being worth 100 viewers. Not sure what the math is on candy bars but it's gotta be pretty convincing. There's precedence too - tons of peanuts saved some show called JERICHO.

If all it takes is a little of this:

for a lot more of this:

then I'm all for this ridiculous plan.

Godspeed, nerds.
