Another Thanksgiving, another trip home. Let the Giving of Thanks commence!I am thankful for...
This is the first year my family has had Wireless at the house, and I'm grateful for being able to sit on the couch whilst watching TV and moving as little as possible.
... On Demand.
I haven't seen a single episode of the newest Curb Your Enthusiasm season, but thanks to my parents' cable package, I can watch them all. Much better than a dumb old parade. The marathon has already started. Pretty, pretty, pretty, pretty good.
... Unemployment benefits.
A common means of survival for those of us in the movie industry, and I would not have made it this year without it.
. Sure there are other instant streaming options now, but Roku was my best friend for most of this long, solitary year. It's also been a godsend for researching documentaries, as they have quite a selection.
Or more specifically, Korean manufacturing. I've dropped my trusty Samsung phone more times than I can remember, I took it to the beach where salty air and sand invaded its innards, and it's pretty much guaranteed to be jostling around in my pocket when not in use. Still, it keeps on ticking. It may not be the fanciest mobile, but it's been the most dependable one I've owned. It was super cheap, too.
... Notes From the Muck / Rat Bastards and Other Hazards / Make it Stop / Blog-a-licious!
No matter how boring the internet at large might be on any given day (I'm looking at you, Sunday), our blogs remain a constant source of entertainment.
... My car.
I paid that motherfucker off this year, and it's been the best car I've ever owned.
... Living near water.
And yeah, I have read this
... Everyone who has supported the documentary.
Thank you all. For obvious reasons.
