notes from
the MUCK . . .

How does your garden grow? With muck, muck and more muck! I spent much of today finishing the final muck box and then shifting muck from one box to the next. The first box, which the Big Lad is enthusiastically pointing out, has been rotting down for two years now and once we’d removed the top quarter of unrotted material, we found we’d hit the pay dirt.

Speaking of Birthdays

I'm pretty awful at remembering birthdays. Most of my friends' and family members' birthdays pass me by without me even knowing. Facebook is helpful, but you still have to be paying attention. I know I could set up some sort of reminder but I just haven't gotten around to it.

Like my tendency to end sentences with prepositions, this is not a quality I'm proud of.  Sometimes I think I'm a pretty selfish person deep down. Or maybe 'self-centered' is a better word. Recently, I neglected to remember the birthday of one of my only friends in Wilmington. And his birthday is even embedded in his email address. Also, I'm pretty sure that I attended Vikki's birthday party, and posted a birthday post for Sarah, but MAY have completely forgotten my good buddy Matt's birthday. Or maybe I didn't. I honestly don't know, because I'm so self-centered.

In any event, Matt, you are truly an awesome person and friend and I'm glad as shit that I met you.  No sarcasm or anything following that statement. Just some good old fashioned Friday NFTM sincerity. I think the last time I said something genuine and kind on here everyone thought I was on my death bed. I assure you that's not the case. I am still in my pajamas at 12:30pm, though, and I haven't brushed my teeth yet. Maybe that explains everything.

Anyway good sir, in the words of The Golden Girls, thank you for being a friend, and Happy Birthday (last month)! Now here's YOUR extra special, and extra belated, birthday dedication:
